Temporary Closures at St Albans and Deer Park Libraries

Two Brimbank libraries will close briefly in May while we replace and install some new shelving to allow these spaces to continue to evolve to meet the needs of the community.

ST ALBANS LIBRARY - closed temporarily from Tuesday 11 May to Wednesday 12 May
DEER PARK LIBRARY - closed temporarily from Wednesday 19 May to Thursday 20 May

It is anticipated St Albans Library will re-open to customers on Thursday 13 May, while Deer Park Library will re-open on Friday 21 May.

Four other Brimbank Libraries will be operating as usual during each closure.

During the closures you will have access to:

  • Click & Collect and Click & Collect Printing services between 9.30am and 8pm
  • Staff on site to provide general information assistance.
  • 24 hour access to the online library where you can:
    • renew and reserve items
    • borrow eBooks and e-Audio books
    • access electronic databases and resources
  • The After Hours book return chute to return library items.
  • Deer Park Library Study booths and Computer Room will remain open, and bookings are essential.
The due date for library items will be amended on the library management system so library items will not fall due when the library is closed.

The closures will enable the shelving works to be carried out safely and will result in a flexible library layout that benefits library customers through:
  • Improved library programming for the Deer Park and St Albans communities as the new shelving will be on castors for easy movement. The flexible spaces will allow greater capacities for library-run events, and provide increased options for the community to attend programs in their own local areas.
  • Better usability of the library collection. Shelves will be at lower heights, allowing all members of the community access to the collection without the need for external assistance.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
