Children's Programs

Brimbank Libraries offers a range of programs to keep young minds busy after school and on the weekends including After School Activity Zone and Reading Buddies.

Our programs are designed for children aged 6 - 12 years old.

Sessions are held during school term. 

Bookings are not essential. Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all of our events.

Term Dates:

Term 2: 19 April to 25 June.
Term 3: 12 July to 17 September.
Term 4: 4 October to 17 December.

 Children ASAZ port       

After School Activity Zone

For ages: 5-13 years
Duration: 1 hour

Make and create each week with our afterschool STEAM program.

From games designed to inspire strategic thinking and heath, creative crafts to robotics, 

we explore fun and exciting projects to help your children understand the world around them.

Deer Park Library – Wednesdays, 4 - 5pm
Keilor Library – Thursdays, 4 - 5pm
St. Albans Library – Wednesdays, 3.45 - 4.45pm
Sunshine Library – Thursdays, 4 - 5pm
Sydenham Library – Tuesdays, 4 - 5pm

 Children Reading Buddies port  

Reading Buddies

For ages: 6-12 years
Duration: 1 hour

Help develop your children’s reading skills and confidence with our friendly Reading Buddies program.

Come to the library and practise in a 15-minute weekly reading session with one of our friendly library staff.

Deer Park Library – Thursdays, 4 - 5pm
St. Albans Library – Tuesdays, 3.30 - 4.30pm
Sunshine Library – Wednesdays, 4 - 5pm
Sydenham Library – Mondays, 3.45 - 4.45pm

 Children LEGO Club port    


For ages: 6-12 years
Duration: between 1 – 2.5 hours

Discover the world of LEGO! 
Make crazy contraptions and wondrous worlds each week with our LEGO club.

Deer Park Library – Saturdays, 11.30am - 2.00pm
Keilor Library – Fridays, 3.30pm - 4.30 pm
St. Albans Library –  Mondays, 3.45pm - 4.45pm & Saturdays, 2pm - 4pm
Sunshine Library – Fridays, 4pm - 5pm
Sydenham Library – Saturdays, 11am - 12noon
