Telling Community Stories Through Art with Marcia Ferguson and Panel_BWRF2021

Hear local artists Jennifer Tran, Katherine Gailer and Jessica Wilson discuss how conversation, story-telling, and the sharing of identities, shapes and informs their artworks.
Panel discussion facilitated by Marcia Ferguson, creative producer, speaker, mentor and teacher.
Jennifer Tran uses conversations around cooking, food and recipes to create bonds between senior women, their families and communities, embarking on projects including Teta’s Kitchen, a sculptural garden, and Mama’s Kitchen.
Katherine Gailer [AKA Katira] is a Colombian muralist, performer and visual artist currently working in Australia, composing imaginary landscapes and characters that define cultural identity in the space of magical realism.
Jessica Wilson creates unique experiences including Child Nation, a set of digitally prompted journeys which guide kids to turn their environments — and their adults — into subversive art projects.
