Small Steps Online Challenge

This challenge is for anyone over 50 who would like to build their skills and confidence using their internet enabled devices at home.

Get online, take some small learning steps and complete two Be Connected beginner learning courses by 31st October for a chance to win a $75 grocery voucher.

Be Connected is a free Australian Government initiative helping older Australians to thrive in a digital world.

A Be Connected short online course can help you learn the basics such as using a mouse, turning on the computer, setting up and understanding the functions of an iPhone or Android phone, avoiding scams, connecting with others, or sending an email.

Courses are for beginners, with clear and practical instructions supporting older people to learn at their own pace. There are also some fun word search and other games to try.

If you would like to build your confidence and take the challenge, library staff can guide you to take the first steps with self-paced learning.

Contact any of the Brimbank Libraries branches to register for the challenge . All you need to do then is complete two short Be Connected courses to be in the draw to win one of 3 x $75 vouchers.

Course notes are available in Chinese, Vietnamese, Greek, Macedonian, Italian, Spanish, Arabic,  and English .
