Maryrose Cuskelly Author Talk

Join us for a special author talk by Maryrose Cuskelly to launch our new Keilor Library Saturday Book Chat
Her recent book, The Cane is a riveting, on-the-edge-of-your-seat novel exploring a Queensland cane growing community splintered by the disappearance of a young local girl. Locals and out of towners are all to be suspicious of. Anxious parents watch over their children, whose dreams are disturbed. And in the meanwhile the cane fires burn while the search for the missing girl continues.
Maryrose is a writer of fiction and non-fiction. Her book Wedderburn: A true tale of blood and dust (Allen & Unwin, 2018) was longlisted for Best Debut and Best True Crime in the 2019 Davitt Awards. She is also the author of Original Skin: Exploring the marvels of the human hide (Scribe, 2010) and The End of Charity: Time for social enterprise (with Nic Frances, Allen & Unwin, 2008), which was the winner of the Iremonger Award.
