Grow Your Own Fungi

Are you ready to become a citizen-mycologist?

Introduction to cultivating fungi on Agar: Learn about the growth cycle of gourmet mushrooms and how to cultivate your own fungi on agar. No specialised equipment required.

Click & Collect a basic kit from your closest Brimbank Libraries branch, store the pack in the fridge until the workshop is due to start, grab a sharp knife and you’ll be all set.  

Presented by Ema Corro, president of MYCOmmunity Applied Mycology Inc which is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to raise awareness about the importance of fungi and provide training and resources to citizen-mycologist. Ema has a Bachelor of Applied Science from RMIT, and has conducted research in mycelium based composites as well as fungal ecology. 

This workshop is open to adults. Bookings essential.
